Dawn to Learning

Have you ever asked yourself "Why aren´t my students learning?"? What´s wrong with them? What problems could they possibly have?

Sometimes we teachers take for granted what students should know and assume that they have acquired skills or knowledge previously needed for a given lesson or activity.

Experience shows that this not necessarily true. I have come across 6th graders who do not know how to use a hole puncher or how to handle a broom, just to mention some simole examples.

However, everybody has a moment of sudden enlightenment, when knowledge finally sinks.

Let´s stop a moment from our daily routines and find out what our students really know and what they need to know. Let´s be aware of their "Dawn to learning".

Students are our blessings and we teachers are responsible for their learning.
